As a powerful method of expressing human creativity, Ireland boasts a rich musical heritage encompassing a wide array of genres. Is there a more musical culture?
When archaeological excavations discovered musical instruments in Co. Wicklow, they dated back to the Bronze Age period, making them the world’s oldest surviving wooden musical instruments. This tells us music in Ireland has been part of society dating back to the Bronze Age, helping to shape Irish culture as we know it today.
Its varieties are almost endless. Traditional. Folk. Dance. Celtic. Rock. Punk. Jazz. Blues. Rap. Like all great music festivals, the Peoria Irish Fest works hard to offer a spectrum of styles and artists for our guests to enjoy.

That's why we are so excited to be bringing you The Kilkenny's -- billed as Ireland's Best International Folk Group. Noted for their dynamic arrangements, energetic performances and charismatic rapport with audiences, you want to be sure to catch their show. They'll appear ONE NIGHT ONLY, on Friday, August 22.
Take the word of one of the key booking agents for the Milwaukee Irish Fest.
“The Kilkennys are a great band upholding the Irish Folk/Ballad tradition with a contemporary style matching the passion & stories with these songs. The Kilkennys live is a fantastic show”
- Barry Stapleton, Milwaukee Irish Fest
After auditioning during the Showcase of Bands at the Association of Irish and Celtic Festivals conference, they were quickly booked by many of the top events in the country. Don't miss your chance to experience this future star of the Celtic music circuit!
